Bill Key reflects on the 63 years he has been rowing on the Cam with details taken from his recently published book. He will take you on a journey along the Cam encompassing a history of the Bumping Races, boathouses, mooring, notable landmarks, fishing, wildlife and the environment, and of course the true story of ‘Asbo’ the swan

BIOG:

Bill started rowing on the River Cam in 1960 and this year took part in the “Bumps” for the 64th year rowing in an eight at the age of 81 with the Cambridge Veterans.

Over this time he has been involved with organising rowing events, the building of two boathouses have been a licensed umpire with British Rowing since 1966. He has stored away loads of information over many years which he decided to commit to a publication as many of these details will be carted off to the Milton tip on his demise.

he has also been the President of the Cambridgeshire Rowing Association for a number of years and continues to be involved in its organisation.
